Granite Island Mahe.  Mahe is the main island of the Republic of Seychelles. It is located about four degrees south of the equator and about 55 degrees east of the meridian, but more importantly the Seychelles is a thousand miles from anywhere, probably the best place to be for an unspoiled holiday. The Seychelles islands are outside the cyclone belt and free of any dangerous diseases such as malaria. Mahe is mountainous and surrounded by lots of beautiful fine white sandy beaches. The south-west side of the island is very much undeveloped and it is there where you will find a Seychelles that many of us are looking for, unspoiled, lush with many empty beaches, almost prehistoric, it is just another world. Mahe is the start-off point for everyone that comes to visit the Seychelles for their dream holiday. Unique for divers because of its huge granite formations both above and below the water-line. Dive sites like "Shark Point" and "Jailhouse Rock" will probably leave you in awe. The fish formations and marine diversity are stunning.  And then, of course, there is our Whale Shark season.
