Leo Hoevers.
Leo
started his diving career in the Netherlands 32 years ago as a young boy
of just 15. He has been a PADI instructor since 1989 and holds a
"Master Scuba Diver Trainer" instructor rating and is a
certified "EFR instructor". Leo has left his wake behind in
places like the lakes of Holland, the North-sea, moved through the
Mediterranean sea through to the Red sea and the Caribbean ABC islands,
and finally he ended up stranded in the year 1991 in the middle of the
Indian Ocean on the most beautiful archipelago existing today, "The
Seychelles Islands". Diving in the Seychelles for the last 16
years has given him a rich knowledge of all of the inner islands and
some of the 100 or so outer islands and what lays beneath them. He is a
keen environmentalist and naturalist and loves to share this with his
many diving friends, who he has gathered world-wide over the many years
that he has been diving.
As the first
Micro-light pilot in the Seychelles, Leo flew about 225 hours from 1997
to 1999 to help start the Seychelles Whale-shark project, which now
falls under the Marine Conservation Society Seychelles. You can be
involved and support this project by adopting a whale-shark, if you
would like to know how just contact Leo.
Together with his
wife they have they have considerable experience managing a number of
dive-centres, but since the year 2000 they have been their own bosses.

Rachel
Hoevers.
Rachel
is a Seychelloise and together with Leo is the owner of DRS. She is also
the dive-centre manager and makes sure that all dives and diving courses
are properly planned, takes care of finance, administration, salaries
for the staff and countless other things which fall under her
responsibility. Very simply, without her, there would not be a DRS.

Grandy
Michael Fanchette.
Grandy
is a Seychellois and works with DRS as a licensed 2 Nm skipper, is
trained as a Medic First-Aider and is the person that will move you in
comfort to the various dive sites and back again to the dive centre.
Grandy is not a certified diver yet, as somehow it seems there is no
time for this in his busy working schedule! He likes being around people
and has a great memory for storing words in different languages. Just
one warning to you though - don't let him explain how the water tap
works!

Joel
Hoareau.
Joel
is a Seychellois and works with DRS as the water-sports guy - he takes
care of the canoes, windsurfing etc, He also helps out with the dive
centre stuff - filling dive cylinders, carrying equipment on and off the
boat, washing equipment, you name it, he is the man behind the scenes, a
very very important member of the team. Joel has been a team member
since early 2007.

Jonathan
A. Richards.
Jonathan
was born in Kenya and came to Seychelles with his family in 1999.
He
studied at the Maritime Training Centre in Seychelles and it was there
that he was introduced to the opportunity of working underwater. While
at the MTC he was offered the chance to do his Divemaster training and
after graduating he came to work for DRS in 2004. Jonathan loves being
with people and diving is his great passion; in his line of work these
two attributes make a good combination. Now, after having done a couple of
thousand dives as a Divemaster, it is time to move forward and with a bit of luck
he will be a PADI Instructor before the year is out.

The meaning of the
DRS logo. The two shields in the logo, blue and red represent the
two beliefs that owner Leo Hoevers has in diving. The blue stands for
the world's oceans and the red shield that lays on top stands for
safety, which he will never compromise.
